The counts are retrieved daily since 2026-09-03; earlier months were retrieved retrospectively on that day and are labeled "backfilled". The calendar is static and is verified against the Official Journal text.

- Query definition (the whole scope): legal acts published in the Official Journal of the European Union, L series, whose English title contains the exact phrase "artificial intelligence", counted by month of OJ publication, retrieved daily from the Publications Office's public Cellar SPARQL endpoint (monthly series back to January 2024; the current month is shown as "in progress" until it closes).
- Known limitation — title match only: the public endpoint holds metadata, not full text, so an act that mentions artificial intelligence only in its body is not counted. Consolidated texts, Commission proposals, Parliament positions, communications and member-state law are outside the definition. The count is therefore a lower bound of AI-titled acts, not a measure of all AI-relevant law-making.
- AI Act calendar: the application dates are copied from the Official Journal text of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 and its amending Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, and are updated only when a further amendment is published in the OJ. Dates only; no interpretation.
