The accelerators that AI runs on are made through a supply chain that passes through Korea (memory, equipment) and Taiwan (foundry). This feature lists monthly customs figures as published by the two governments: Korea by HS heading (8486 semiconductor manufacturing equipment, 8542 integrated circuits) and Taiwan as all-goods monthly totals — the HS-level Taiwan source is not under an open licence and is not used. Public aggregates only; no company, plant, partner-company or share data; no estimates. This page is not an edition of this site and is not listed in the Editions switcher.

Method, scope and terms
- Korea (HS level): Korea Customs Service dataset on data.go.kr (API 15101609): monthly exports and imports by HS heading, world total, USD thousand, customs-clearance basis. HS 8486 and 8542 are the main headings (ruling 2026-09-03). HBM has no separate HS heading (memories fall under 8542.32), so no "HBM" series is published. Skeleton until the API key is installed (publisher action); then fetched monthly.
- Taiwan (totals only): data.gov.tw dataset 6053 (Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance): monthly import/export totals for all goods, NTD thousand, Open Government Data License v1.0. The HS-level statistics portal of the Customs Administration carries a no-reproduction notice and is not used (ruling 2026-09-04). Months are shown in the Gregorian calendar (ROC year + 1911).
- Display rule: HS heading × world total, monthly amounts only. No company names, plants, partner companies, market shares or interpretation by this site.
